Installing Virtual Tikkun Mobile
Follow these steps to install the Virtual Tikkun app on your iPhone for testing.
Prerequisites
- iPhone running iOS 16 or later
- About 5 minutes for initial setup
1
Enable Developer Mode
iOS requires Developer Mode to install apps outside the App Store.
- Open Settings on your iPhone
- Go to Privacy & Security
- Scroll down and tap Developer Mode
- Toggle it On
- Tap Restart when prompted
- After restart, tap Turn On when prompted to confirm
2
Get the Install Link
Get the QR code from the Virtual Tikkun web app:
- Go to myvirtualtikkun.com and log in
- Click the gear icon to open Customize mode
- Select the Mobile App tab
- Scan the QR code with your iPhone camera
3
Register Your Device
Since this is an internal distribution build, your device needs to be registered with Apple.
- Tap Install on the build page
- You'll be prompted to register your device
- Follow the on-screen instructions to install a temporary profile
- This registers your device's unique ID (UDID) with the build system
- A new build will automatically be created that includes your device (~5 minutes)
- You'll receive an email when the new build is ready
Note: Device registration is only required once. Future builds will include your device automatically.
4
Install the App
Once the build including your device is ready:
- Return to the install link (check your email for the new build link)
- Tap Install
- Tap Install again in the popup
- The app will download to your home screen
5
Trust the Developer Certificate
The first time you open the app, iOS may block it.
- If you see "Untrusted Developer", tap Cancel
- Open Settings > General > VPN & Device Management
- Under "Developer App", tap ADAM DAVID HERTZ
- Tap Trust "ADAM DAVID HERTZ"
- Tap Trust to confirm
6
Launch the App
Find Virtual Tikkun on your home screen and tap to open. You're all set!
Troubleshooting
- "Developer Mode Required"
- Go to Settings > Privacy & Security > Developer Mode and enable it. Restart required.
- "Unable to Install"
- Your device may not be registered yet. Wait for the email confirming the new build is ready.
- App crashes on launch
- Make sure you've trusted the developer certificate (Step 5).
- Can't find Developer Mode setting
- Developer Mode is only available on iOS 16+. Update your iPhone if needed.
